About Me!
Hey, I’m Dustin.
I’m an emerging creator on Instagram and TikTok where I share short reflections, honest questions, and a little humor to help people reconstruct faith in a way that’s more compassionate, contemplative, and informed. If you’re holding doubts, spiritual wounds, or just trying to find something real and good again, you’re not alone. This space is for you.
I grew up in the evangelical world and studied at a denominational college for undergrad and grad school while I was a youth pastor until, in 2021, I lost my ministry credentials for being LGBTQ+ affirming. That loss sent me into a season of unraveling and wilderness I wasn’t sure I’d come out of. But slowly, through study, community, and the grace of a God more loving than I could imagine, I started to rebuild something softer and stronger. Now, I’m a youth pastor in the United Methodist Church, walking with students through their own questions and discoveries.
I’ve got a BA in Christian Ministry and an MA in Biblical and Theological Studies, plus I’ve had the opportunity to take some courses in Christian Spirituality at Fordham University. But more than that, I’ve lived in the tension between holding on and letting go. And I know what it’s like to want to believe again without going back to what broke you.
Thanks for being here. You can find me on TikTok @reconstructing_christian and on Instagram @thereconstructingchristian. I hope something you find here helps you breathe a little easier.
Glad you're here :)
